Why I'm Not Writing This Week 11/17
Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing better than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.

1. The Princess Bride
This is one of my favorite movies of all time, and as not many people know, also an excellent book. I've had a paperback 25th anniversary edition for 5 years, but I just found a hardback copy of the 30th edition at Barnes and Nobles the other week and have been cooing over it since. It's one of my all time favorite books and I'll probably buy another edition in 5 years when that comes out.
2. Assignment Magazine
The Mountainview MFA Program has an in-print annual magazine, as well as Online Only blog posts every week. Today, a book recommendation and review by me and a couple of other students has been published. Head over to their website and give it a read!
3. Christmas Shopping
It seems way too soon, but I've had to start planning out my Christmas gifts for my friends and family. I'm blessed with many friends, but it makes for an exhausting shopping season.
4. COLD!
One of the best things about living in North Carolina is the weather. It's warm most of the year, and even our cold is warm for most others. So that makes it doubly annoying when it gets below freezing and we have to turn on our heater. All I want to do is curly up on the couch with coffee.
5. Flu Season
It's that time of the year, and the sickness has swept through the Foil household, or so Daniel thinks. We got a bit of a bug over the weekend and had to stay in bed on Monday to recover. Eat your apples and drink your water everyone. Stay well!
