Why I'm Not Writing This Week 6/28
Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing more than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.
I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.
The Night Is Short, Walk On Girl
Last Saturday, my husband and I watched this weird, trippy and hilarious animated movie. The movie got a bit ridiculous at times, but it was a fun, care-free way to spend our free time this weekend. However, the movie is only in Japanese right now, so we spent most of the night reading subtitles, instead of enjoying the beautiful animation, but I still highly recommend it!
Cleaning Up
We’ve spent a lot of time this week trying to catch up on our yard work and house cleaning that’s fallen behind. It’s interesting how you put things off “just one more day”and you suddenly have a mountain of work to do just so your house is presentable. Wish us luck as we continue to hack through the mess.
Working Overtime
Both with my day job and my freelance work, I’ve been putting in a lot of extra hours this week. It’s been nice to have a bit more money to spend on the weekends, but I’m starting to feel exhausted. I should have a few breaks coming up, with Fourth of July right around the corner though, and I’m really looking forward to it.
Feeling Sick
My allergies were pretty reasonable this Spring, but now, for some reason, they’re coming back with a vengeance. I woke up on Wednesday with a stuffy head and a horrible sore throat. Things are getting a bit better day by day, but I’ll be happy when I can breath normally again.
Birthdays, Birthdays, Birthdays
A couple weeks ago, we celebrated my father-in-law’s birthday, then yesterday we celebrates my mother-in-law’s birthday and on Sunday, we’ll be celebrating my husband’s birthday. All the partying and excitement has been a lot of fun, but I’m most looking forward to spending this weekend with my husband and our families.
