Why I'm Not Writing This Week 5/3
Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing more than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.
I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.
CampNaNo
April 2019 camp ended on Tuesday of this week. And I was able to reach my 50,000 word goal just in time. I have a few scenes left to add to this first draft, but I’m really excited to jump into the next round of revisions for this book. I think it could really be a great book after some work.
Kim’s Convenience
We’ve been rewatching one of our favorite Canadian TV shows recently, trying to get caught up to the newest season. If you enjoy nice, wholesome comedy shows that occasionally tackle ethical and social issues, make sure you check out Kim’s Convenience on Netflix.
Getting Hot!
With the weather changing, it’s been getting crazy hot in the middle of the days. Our house is especially hot, since we’re trying to save money by keeping the AC off for a while. Personally, I don’t mind. I’d rather be hot over cold any day, but my husband and our animals are feeling the heat.
Home Improvements
On Thursday, I spent the day doing a number of home improvement projects. We have new dining room chairs, new toilet upgrade, new fans and lots of plants around the house. It was a busy day, but it’s so nice feeling like our house is spruced up.
North Carolina Writer’s Network Conference
Last Saturday, I attended the NCWN Spring Conference in Greensboro, North Carolina. I was able to attend a couple of excellent workshops to learn how to revise my book and even got an idea for a new fantasy book. I also was able to make a few connection that I hope will pan out to future partnerships.
