Why I'm Not Writing This Week 3/9
Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing better than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.
I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.
Writer's Retreat
Today through Sunday I will be at Tara Lynn Groth's Country Retreat For Creatives. I'll be staying in a beautiful bed and breakfast, drinking coffee and wine, talking to other artists and participating in lectures. I'm really excited to spend this time reading, writing, working on my novel and recharging from life.
Black Panther
Daniel and I finally saw Black Panther over the weekend and absolutely loved it. The plot, the characters, the music, the sets, the costumes were all absolutely breathtaking. We were also really surprised to find that three weeks after the premier our theater was completely sold out. Insane! I definitely recommend it.
Gilmore Girls
This is one of my favorite TV shows. I've been watching it since I was 13 and followed it through to the series finale and then the Netflix reboot last year. I decided to go back and rewatch the show. It's 9 seasons of hour or more episodes, so I'm sure I'll be working on it for a long time. Daniel is thrilled, of course.
Birthdays, Birthdays, Birthdays
We have celebrated so many birthdays in the last week, it's somewhat exhausting but also makes me really happy. In that last week, I believe we've had at least five birthdays between our collective family and friends. We've eaten, drank and sang our way through each, but goodness I'm looking forward to the upcoming week and having nothing to do, hopefully!
Coco
I saw this movie in theaters shortly after it came out and fell in love with the characters, animation, and music. Then, this week we went to Target and the Blu-Ray is finally out and on sale. So, of course, I had to buy it. I watched it again this week and cried big, ugly, happy/sad tears. If you haven't' seen this already, put it on your must-watch list!
