Why I'm Not Writing This Week 1/19
Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing better than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.
I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.
M.F.A. Graduation!
Over the weekend my husband, my parents and I traveled to Whitefield, New Hampshire to celebrate my graduation from my Master of Fine Arts program. I was able to celebrate with the Greatest Cohort of All Time plus enjoy some relaxing time with my family. It was beautiful!
Jury Duty
I was called in for my first ever Jury Duty this week. Much like exciting than I had anticipated. I had imagined myself in an episode of Suits, but it was more like watching paint dry. About fifty of us went in, had to watch a movie about how the court system worked, they picked a couple of us and then we were all sent home. That took nearly three hours for some reason...
Snowed In
This Wednesday we received about 5-6 inches of snow, which was way more than we're used to. Everything has been closed for the past couple of days and Milk and Bread are at a premium. I've used the time to catch up on reading and hang out with family.
Mary and The Witch's Flower
Daniel and I have always been huge Studio Ghibli fans, Daniel a bit more so than me maybe. When he heard some animators from Studio Ghibli were making their own film, he freaked out and has been anxiously waiting to see this movie for about four months. The only screening was last night at 8pm, with subtitles, about 45 minutes away, but we got there in time and enjoyed it!
Guest Posts with L.M. Nelson
This Monday, I had a guest post from author L.M. Nelson, about the difficult of balancing your day job with your writing life. You should definitely take the time to check that out. Also, my own post will be shared on her blog today, so make sure you head over to her website to give it a read.
