Why I'm Not Writing This Week 10/11
Welcome to "Why I'm Not Writing." We all know that the only thing writers like doing more than writing is avoiding writing. So every Friday I list five things that have distracted me from my writing that week.
I also encourage you to share with me what made you procrastinate this week by posting with #whyimnotwriting on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, or share in the comments below. I'll feature my favorites with everyone here.
Finally Fall!
Last weekend we finally got the first taste of fall weather. It’s been in the upper 80s and 90s for the last month, but it’s finally cooled down. We’re also getting a bit of that cloudy/gloomy look, which I’ve been craving since August. Time to bring out the sweaters and whip up a batch of cocoa.
Brews With The Zoo
I had the opportunity over the week to attend a joint event between Fiddlin’ Fish Brewery and the North Carolina Zoo. If you’re familiar with my blog, you probably know I love animals and will visit research and conservation-based zoos every chance I get. I’m glad I was able to support my local organization and enjoy some great food and drinks.
Shaxpir
A writer in a Facebook group recently recommend this writing and organization software, which is similar to Scrivener. However, unlike other software that organize your books, this one is free! There is an upgraded version with more features that I’m interested in testing out, but for now, I can use them with a 30 day free trial. If you’re looking for a new writing software, I recommend you check it out. No credit card required!
Traveling For Work
This week work sent me to Las Vegas for a conference. This was my first time attending a week-long conference, instead of a weekend-based schedule. Of course, I didn’t get a ton of time to actually explore Las Vegas, but it’s still always fun to travel and meet new people. I am definitely happy to be home, though.
Reviews & Guest Post Requests
I’ve had an overwhelming amount of requests for reviews and guests posts lately and my schedule is officially booked up. I’ll leave my request pages live so you can start submitting proposals for next year, but keep in mind I do not have anymore dates open for 2019. Thanks so much for the support!
